The Golden Mile is a national initiative aimed at getting children doing regular physical activity, aiming to tackle the alarming rise in childhood obesity. Since Easter, pupils at Central Primary School have been participating in three Golden Mile runs weekly and competing in inter class challenges. We are now excited to launch the Go For Gold Challenge.
#GoForGoldChallenge is to see pupils/families compete against each other to gain as many miles on their tracker (in the community) as possible over a 5 school week period. The top three families will receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and also win VIP tickets to Central Primary’s Colour run. This will include a fun filled afternoon of an exciting obstacle course, paint bombing, music and refreshments.
There are lots of great running spots in the Ashington area that can be found via the schools website and Class Dojo. The images also identify the length of the track you may wish to complete. This will simply be added to your tracker sheet alongside the date of completion and an adults signature to authorise. (You may wish to run another track of your choice)
It’s a great opportunity to improve the health and wellbeing of your Children. We are trusting parents to record results and join in the fun. Get Up! Get out! And Get Active!
