Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. Art and Design teaching in the Ashington Learning Partnership provides and inspires personal expression, cultural understanding, creative and practical responses, promoting imaginative risk taking. The art and design education that we deliver equips pupils with the knowledge and skills to experiment, create and refine their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils progress through the Ashington Learning Partnership, they become able to think creatively and critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of the many disciplines within art, craft and design and how they shape their history and future.  This enables pupils to contribute as confident citizens and future professionals to the culture, creativity, economic success and emotional wellbeing of our society. The curriculum develops pupils’ cultural capital, through providing enriching experiences.
