Superb display of support raises nearly £2,500 for school funds
Nearly £2,500 has been raised for school funds thanks to a spectacular turnout at Ashington Learning Partnership’s annual fireworks display.
The event on October 24 at Bothal Primary School drew a fantastic crowd of 1,225 people, making it one of our most successful displays in recent years. Thanks to this amazing support, £2,481.55 was raised to help fund upcoming school projects, trips and resources.
People of all ages enjoyed a stunning display of pyrotechnics along with fairground rides, games, stalls and refreshments.
The hugely popular event is hosted each year by the Friends of Bothal Primary charity, supported by staff from the trust’s Bothal and Central Primary Schools.
Funds raised from the firework display go to the charity and the committee decides on the awards of funding for resources Bothal Primary School is unable to provide. Any awards are match funded for Central Primary School.
Louise Hall, Executive Headteacher of Ashington Learning Partnership, said: “We had a fantastic time – it was a superb display which everyone clearly enjoyed. It was also a great turnout with more than 1,200 people there – thanks to all who came and made it such a special evening, and all for a good cause.”
